Definitely the dark side of the spoon!!!! Al and I as previously stated, had met up again after more than fifteen years, a lot had happened in the interim period, particularly AL’s heroin addiction, which he was now almost free off, and MINISTRY, having metamorphasized into a ‘Performance Art Parody Industrial Rock/Metal’ band. This ‘hardcore’ neo brutalist Ministry certainly had its amusing and indeed inspiring moments, the problem was that Al and the gang, took it all and themselves so terribly seriously, they simply could not see the irony at all. Al and Angie his second wife, who was by then managing him, and had been a major player in getting him off heroin, insisted that I flew to Texas and did the video (on stage film material for the ‘Houses Of The Molé' tour). So eventually I agreed! Creatively (see film material featured here) this was a very rewarding experience, particularly working with AUSTIN RHODES and his lovely Korean wife CAROLINA. Austin was the young technician who had been provided to help with the video work, and he proved to be an excellent chap, he myself and Carolina shared a house out in the dessert on Sonic Ranch, where we set up a little studio and created this insane collage of fast edit images and slogans.

Al and the band loved the film, but the general atmosphere around Ministry was hardly relaxed and although it was nice to see Al again after so many years, I was happy to return to Germany once the work was done.

So this has been a musical history spread over thirty years, it has I must say been quite journey for me, revisiting both good and not so good memories. I have obviously been selective about what is featured here, some things I would like to have included are not featured as I know longer have the tracks/masters or indeed know where they are. However perhaps other things will turn up and can be included at a later date. Looking back on me, in those days, hmmmm! I'm not sure! Certainly a very different person (one hopes) to the one I am today! And probably more convinced about myself than I should have been! Anyway, I hope this 'history lesson' is interesting and entertaining, it certainly has been for me!
